While trying to anesthetize some mice and tail-bleed them for a study, I lost two mice. It happens sometimes. You are very careful, you count their breaths, but still, you lose them sometimes.
Looking at the innocent faces of the dead mice, I felt terrible. I had never had such a feeling in my 31 years of life. Knowing that I lost them in vain and without having the chance to use them for our scientific experiment, was crushing. I could hardly sleep and had nightmares the night of that day.
The question I've been asking myself is how some people could torture or even kill humans for political or ideological reasons of their own.
